Blue LED flashing ....

The trouble shooting guide says this:

Why is the LED blinking every 5 seconds?
You have forgotten your camera on... with the main display off.

Can someone elaborate on this? For some reason I can't wrap my brain around this comment.

ML flashes the camera LED every 5 seconds to remember that the camera is still ON but with the LCD off. Blinking the LED has virtually no power consumption but helps lazy people like me who forget to proper shutdown the camera once in a while :P
