DNG comes into DaVinci looking already color graded. So I used Cinelog-C

I took a sample video / MLV with my 5D3 using Cine (Neutral) picture style. I used MLV Mystic to convert it to DNG. I bring the frames straight into DaVinci and it does NOT have that flat neutral base starting point.

So thinking I needed a plug in or something to get it there, so I can begin to learn color grading I bought the Cinelog-C for DaVinci. Which as you can see by the second picture it gets me that flat starting point. I think I just wasted my money cause it SHOULD come that way from the ML/5D3 --right?

But why did my image not just come that way straight from the MLV?

Ah.. so it technically hasn't been color graded it's just the way it comes from the camera as a starting point. It was confusing because when taking CR2 images they come in quite flat. Hence my confusion.

So I just threw $80. for Cinelog-C at a problem that didn't need solving. But it got me Cinelog-C so for that I'm grateful!
