Using SDXC cards with CF adapter (5D RAW)
« on: May 02, 2017, 02:20:51 PM »
Hey guys,

Just wondering if using fast SD card in a CF adapter could work for Magic Lantern RAW ?
The interest would be to be able to backup sd card on a "My Passport" harddrive while travelling without using a computer.

Thanks !

No, no adapter is fast enough.

I have tried udma7 and it is slow (15MB/sec) on SD card which was supposed to go 40MB so I gave up. If you will find some adapter which is able to handle at least 60MB/sec (which is now full HD 24p continuous shooting) let me know

There is no UDMA-7 compatible adapter I know of. Brand, type, link?

As others have pointed out - that wont work.

However, I can recommend the Nexto DI as an alternative solution (it takes CF and rips them to HDD)
