Hi all

I have a eos550d which I currently use in a photobooth using dslrbooth software.

I've been playing around with the video option as dslrbooth has the option to record video clips.

I have an external mic plugged into my 550 but when recording has a noticeable background hiss.

Will installing magic lantern on my 550 help to eliminate this hiss with the various added functions/settings that will become available to me?

Yes, ML will do that.
https://builds.magiclantern.fm/features.html -> Audio -> AGC_TOGGLE

And there are ways to bypass AGC on 550D without ML.

Thanks Walter, you mention ways to bypass the AGC without ML...how can I do that please

Thanks Walter

I have gone down the ML route and disabled the AGC which has worked a treat however the recording volume and level are quote low.......what setting do I tweak to help with this.

Thanks for all your help

First try to get highest output from the mic. Any switch there?
Then tune Audio tab -> Analog gain.
