Hello,

I am having a problem with my MLV audio. After converting with RawMagic on a mac, the audio is all there, but it seems rearranged - where the second half of the recording is actually placed in the beginning. Sort of like it was cut in half and the last half moved to the front.   I am not sure how to deal with this. Here are my specs below:

- I have a canon mark iii firmware 1.2.3
- ML 1.2.3 nightly build
- modules loaded: MLV_play  MLV-rec  MLV_snd
-filmed at 30p

Viewing in MlRawViewer - sound has same problem
Converting with RawMagic, sound has the same problem.

Any thoughts on why this may be?

I have a 5D3 using 1.2.3 and have the exact same problem, and have had it ever since the sound module was added.. Have used every conversion software available, every build that has been released, many various different CF cards to try and find out what may cause the issue and see if I can isolate the problem to be able to avoid it, but have had no luck so far and have pretty much given up on using sound with ML unfortunately.. At first I thought using a HDMI monitor connected to the HDMI port when filming was causing the issue, but after extensive testing both with an HDMI monitor attatched and without, I still get the same random results..

I have searched every thread I can find about audio and ML but haven´t found any solution or what may cause the issue. And for me it´s extremely random. Sometimes it´s 1 out of 10 clips that have the audio messed up just like you described, and sometimes it´s 10 out of 10, and sometimes it´s 0 out of 10. I´ve tried everything possible that I can think of to try and find a pattern of what may cause it, but no luck as of yet, and I´ve been using ML since it was released several years ago...

So if anyone have had the same problem and have found a solution to the problem, or what may cause it, I would also deeply appreciate a reply. I always use an external recorder anyway for sound, but syncing audio in post is sooo much easier if you have scratch audio on the clips recorded in camera as Pluraleyes works like magic when syncing audio. The clips that have messed up audio needs manual syncing, which always is a pain...

I appologize if there is a post somewhere here on the forum that already covers this topic, but I´ve searched everywhere in every way I can think of, and haven´t been able to find anything about it. So if my searching skills are poor, I appologize :)

But nonetheless, ML is magic and I´m forever grateful to the creators and developers for their amazing work! :)

@mrleather -- unfortunately RawMagic isn't supported here by ML.

Can you guys please upload and share the problematic files?

Does it matter which FPS is being used or is this only related to 30p?  FPS override enabled or no? Tried resetting ML to default?

Thanks a lot for your reply DeafEyeJedi. I´ll upload a file and share the link here so you can have a look at it.

I´ve tried all various FPS settings, but have had the same random issue with every setting. I have the exact same problem as @mrleather, where the audio on some clips seems to be completely rearranged and doesn´t match the clip at all. Like if you´ve cut the audio in half, and put the second half before it, so it´s completely wrong and no way of trying to match it up in post even by cutting it and trying to move it to the right location..

I normally shoot in 25 FPS (in PAL land) when shooting with sound, and I use the regular Canon 25 fps mode, and not FPS override. I´ve tried with FPS override on, but with the same result of messed up sound. Have tried every build I can think of and tried resetting ML to default, but still the same issue. I have 2 5D3´s both running ML on 1.2.3 as I need clean hdmi out for better viewing on external monitoring with my small hd 502 and 702 monitors, and I get the same result on both of my cameras. So I can´t see it being a hardware problem with my camera as I get the same result on 2 different cameras using different CF and SD cards..

Haven´t found anything that I can pinpoint to cause the issue as it´s so extremely random for me, so I´m also in desperate need for help if there is something that can be done about it, or to let me know if I´m doing something wrong so I can correct my mistake if that is the case.

@DeafEyeJedi   Thanks for the reply. I have a link here to a problem clip. It's around 2.65 gigs... sorry! If that is too huge, I can do some other tests later this week.
It seems to happen on 30p for me. With 60p the audio file sometimes works in sync, other times it only records 10 seconds in a 1 minute video clip. FPS has been off for all of my videos so far. I have not tried resetting ML to default - but also have not messed with any other settings really. Would that help?

Thank you for the help - and thank you Steeth for your input as well.
