Hi guys

I need to backup my files on an external harddrive without having to use the computer. I found the WD My Passport which can backup the SD card directly to the harddrive without having to use a computer. Problem is that it doesn't take CF cards.

My plan is then to transfer the files from the CF cards to the SD cards and then backup the SD card with the WD My Passport.

So question is. Can i transfer my RAW files from the CF card to the SD card internally in the camera?

I'm using a 5D Mark III

Best, Morten

once you go raw you never go back

You can, using the file manager (file_man.mo).

Just be aware it wasn't extensively tested, so use copy, rather than move.

You don't need Magic Lantern for this, you can copy files via "Image Copy" in the (blue) Canon menus.

damn, I didn't know this was possible through filemanager.

Wish I knew that one week ago.

I tried to offload on the go with fileman.mo some time ago: it works, but damn slow and draining battery.
