Eos M and ML not recording audio with visuals

I have read through a lot of the threads and tried to implement the advice. I have turned on 'audio remote shot' and when I go into the canon menu and go into 'sound recording' I can see the audio signal registering on the meter. However, when I then record (80% of the time it says 'sound is disabled' but that's another matter) no audio is there when I play on the camera (yes I've turned the volume up) or when I import on to a laptop. Any ideas?

Sorry, your post is incomprehensible.

Video recording H.264 or MLV?
Audio remote shot is a feature to trigger cam for stills via sound. Hand clap or else.

I am recording h.264 and no sound will record despite being evident on the internal meters, I am not sure how to rectify this.

Run ML installation once again and wait until timeout sets in (60 seconds). Restart cam and try to reproduce this error.
Does audio recording work now?
If cam is recording sound now (all the time): Run installation once again, restart cam. And retry to reproduce this error with ML.
