Hello,

I want to buy a new PC. Budget: Around 1000,- Euros.
Want to edit ML raw Footage in Davinci Resolve. (Did this allready with my old PC, but its slow)
My last two computers was some "Gaming PC" from ARLT. (www.arlt.com)
I've checked these three PC's (one from "ARLT", the other two from "Cyberport")

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. ARLT - Gaming PC - 960,- EURO

- Intel Core i7-4790 (3,6GHz)
- 8GB RAM
- 240GB SSD
- 1000GB HDD
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX750
- ohne Betriebssystem

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. LENOVO - "Cyberport" - 650,- EURO

- Intel® Core™ i5-4460 Prozessor (bis zu 3,40 GHz), Quad-Core
-16 GB RAM
- 120 GB SSD,
- 1 TB Festplatte
- NVIDIA GeForce GT730 Grafik (2048 MB)
- Windows 10 Home 64 Bit

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. LENOVO - "Cyberport" - 880,- EURO

- Intel® Core™ i5-6400 Prozessor (bis zu 3,3 GHz), Quad-Core
- 16 GB RAM
- 2 TB SSHD
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX960 Grafik (2048 MB)
- Windows 10 Home 64 Bit,

The first "Lenovo" PC is much cheaper, but got 16 MB ram. But only "i5" instead of "i7" CPU.
And only 120 GB SSD instead of 240 GB. The Second Lenovo got a 2 TB SSHD...
and i don't know if a "hybrid modell" is good or bad.

I don't care for "Windows 10". I've got Win7, so i would
install Win7 on the PC. Do not want Win 10 at all.

I want a PC with:

- I5 (or i7)
- 16 GB ram
- some NVIDA Card
- SSD (don't know if its important to have 240 GB, i think 120 GB is enough for Windows 7 and Systemsoftware. For Videostorrage even 240 GB is to small)
- NO Windows 10.

Any "thoughts" about that configuration. Is it enough. Should i spend more money?
What are the really IMPORTANT parts when buying a new PC.

And do you know some good Computer stores in Berlin. I was allways a big fan of "ARLT.com".
But they are not in Berlin. I can order a PC online. But I´m more the guy that goes into a store
and buy a PC in a store. So www.cyberport.de is the only decent PC Hardware Store i know in Berlin so far.
I'm not so happy with Acer, HP... Lenovo did great Laptops. Any sugesstion on Brands... which i should avoid?

Ok. I have to decide between these to PC´s from ARTL.com:

1. ARLT Aktions Gaming PC SSD / i7 Skylake / 8GB / GTX 960 - 990,- Euro

- Intel Core i7-6700 Quad-Core Prozessor mit 4x 3,4 GHz
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (4gb ram)
- 8 GB DDR4 mit 2.133 MHz
- SSD 250 GB Serial-ATA/600 SSD von Samsung

2. Gaming PC - ARLT Mr. Gamer SSD / i7 / 8GB / GTX750 - 960,- Euro

- Intel Core i7-4790 Quad-Core Prozessor mit 4x 3,6 GHz
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 (2gb ram)
- 8 GB DDR3 mit 1.600 MHz
- SSD 240 GB Serial-ATA/600 SSD von Kingston

PRO No.1:
- I've heard that the "Skylake" Prozessor is good for Videoediting. Some people say that its perfect for Resolve 4K Editing. (don't know if its true. At the moment i only need FullHD.)
- GTX has 4GB Ram
- DDR4

CONS no.1:
- no 1.000 GB HD (I hope its not a problem to plug in my old HD's)

...
i think i will buy "No.1". Any thought or concerns?

If you wana use resolve to be your main grading tools and want to be playback in realtime.
better invest a good graphic card(resolve is faster using a gpu then a cpu)

I am using a gtx970 for now with 7200rpm hdd.
has no problems playback 1080 with normal grading nodes. (for 4k timeline it wont playback in realtime)

caching is useless with a 7200rpm disc, it just too slow.
I used an ssd whenever i need caching.

thats my 2cents~

Thanks for the feedback.
I don't want to build a pc on my own. So i think i will start
with this... and than upgrade later to better cards .. if i need it. Or more RAM, more SSD, etc.

ARLT Aktions Gaming PC SSD / i7 Skylake / 8GB / GTX 960 - 990,- Euro
- Intel Core i7-6700 Quad-Core Prozessor mit 4x 3,4 GHz
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (4gb ram)
- 8 GB DDR4 mit 2.133 MHz
- SSD 250 GB Serial-ATA/600 SSD von Samsung

I will plug in my old HDs and lets see how it works. I cannot have all my footage on a SSD because i cannot afford a 1TB SSD.
I don't know how "caching" exaclty works. My thoughts... when i have enough RAM. (32 GB or more)
i will not need "HD caching", right?

i believe resolve will use more gpu ram rather than the ram in ur system.
so better get a card with atlest 4gb ram.

caching only if you want a fast workflow, I use it whenever I am doing a SDE wedding only. (playing back realtime and redering using the exsisting cache save me alot time processing time.
If you dont do these stuff, i think u wont need a fast ssd~
