After looking at actual HDR pictures I thought that I could apply Blender's node compositor to Magic Lantern's HDR video. The hard part was seperating out the images into unique dark/light streams.

I did this with an easy node group setup available from the BA forum here: http://blenderartists.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=190205&d=1343361704

Anyway here is the tutorial, sorry about the quality and strange placement of the cursor, I had issues with Screencastomatic recorder.

Hey is that program anything like Nuke? As the workspace of the program kinda looks like it.

Actually didn't knew blender could do video, knew it could do 3d though.

Yes it does video editing and nuke type effects via the editor. But they are not combined easily. You must render out an effect then import it into the editor.
It also does image tracking and stabilising. Check out my blog for more Blender info at http://blendervse.wordpress.com/

Best part of this method is not having to render all the frames into light and dark groups! It's a simple pass straight from the source recording, no intermediate required.

Also Blender manipulates all image buffers in 32bit float color, the only draw back then is the sadly limited camera codec.
