We tested out the new 3x crop module for raw and H264 and are very happy with it. :)
We used 67 fps in 1920x648 raw and got the correct aspect ratio back in Davinci resolve.
Thank you developers! Here are some impressions:

Quite a lot of shimmering artefacts in the water when they're walking - did you slow the footage down even more using optical flow?

Yes I used optical flow and slowed the footage down even more to 30%. I agree with you there are artefacts.
The music isn't my own production it's an android smartphone jingle ;)

Sorry for my rather confusing post. These slowmo shots in the video were only taken in raw.
We also tested the crop_rec.mo recording H264 but these shots aren't in the video. I just wanted to mention that the module works fine so far. Let me know if I should upload the H264 files too.
Not sure if it already works on other cameras.-> http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=17021.0

Sure why not upload the H264 footage and compare? Are you also noticing any vertical like "stripes" in your cropped shots @friano75?

@_OLLE_ -- I'm afraid this module only works in a special build made by @a1ex for 5D3 atm. More to come later though, hopefully.

Thanks @DeafEyeJedi I think it will be nice to have it for the 7d as well!

I didn't notice vertical "stripes" yet. I noticed more noise but i think that's normal due to the fact that the neighbouring pixels can't be averaged like the non-cropped recording "mode" does.  @DeafEyeJedi

Hi, here are the test shots I mentioned earlier. I hope they are usable.
The footage is more or less color matched.

The H264 footage is of very high quality it seems. Where it would break is in post but it seems very sharp.
