DualISO and Black Frame subtraction
« on: February 01, 2016, 03:57:26 PM »
I shot DualISO FRSP timelapse about 100 frames long and after stopping intervalometer disabled AutoETTR and shot about 20 black frames with same settings. Then I processed files 4 different ways:
1. As usual mlv_dump + cr2hdr without black frames.
2. Black frames subtraction + mlv_dump + cr2hdr.
3. Black frames subtraction + mlv_dump + cr2hdr --no-bad-pix.
4. mlv_dump + cr2hdr --no-bad-pix.
The conclusion is better not to use Black Frame subtraction with DualISO :(
Why cr2hdr works better alone?

TBH, I never tested dual iso with a dark frame.

You could upload one frame, and the averaged dark frame, so we can take a look at them.
