Live Playback to monitor (HDMI output) make image small
« on: January 19, 2016, 04:38:46 AM »
Hello ML community,

I am using a 60D with ML and I found it really useful for thing like removing the AF box.  I am however having problems with live playback.

Setup: 60D outputting HDMI to DVI into monitor, output set to 25fps 1920x1080
Issue: When in the 60D menu screen the monitor display shows the full screen, but the moment I start recording the outputted video is much smaller than full screen, it looks like a a giant black border around the video image.

Any ideas to show the output in Live Mode to be full screen??

I do not have the 60D, but on the 5D the info button on the back controls what info that the camera delivers to the hdmi feed. Maybe that helps

Thanks, the info display is not the issue.

The issue is the HDMI output from the 60D is only showing a very small image, definitely not 1920x1080, more like 720. On the monitor the display is very small and has a black border space around the video image when doing live feed. When i select menu the image is correct and full screen.

I cannot troubleshoot this. It might be a limitation on the live feed that it does not output in 1920x1080. I looked everywhere in the ML menu but there is no option that corrects this issue.

I don't think the 60d has 1080p output from its hdmi. Look into that first
