Dear Forum members/readers,

I am using a mac, 10.9.5., and have a brand new cf card (64 gb) from Komputer Bay. My camera is a canon 5d iii.

My problems and questions are as follows:
- My canon has firmware 1.2.3. Do I understand it correctly, when I say I need to install this same firmware on the CF card?
- I have used http://pel.hu/eoscard/ to find the firmware, and first prepared the card in the macboot app. Then I downloaded the 1.2.3. win.zip. and dragged it into the (first window of the) card; not in any subfolders. Is that the way to go for Mac-users? Im finding little info on that.
- When I now put the card in my 5d, it doesn't respond to anything. It doesn't even switch on. The weird thing is, Ive put the same card in an old 350d, and it responds (goes on, takes pictures).
- also, the misc folder is all of a sudden missing from the card; while I have seen it there before I started the process. I can imagine this isn't good.

Is this in general perceived as such a difficult process? Thought I could do this 'quickly' before dinner, but guess again :P!
Any similar experiences or solutions?

Thank you so much in advance!
