Hi,
I have been using MLV raw on my 700D for a week, however I notice some strange color artifacts on contrasting edges.
I used MLV Producer to convert to CDNG (Cinema DNG) and remove focus dots. (only mlv converter I have found so far that can remove focus dots from multiple MLVs)
Here are the settings I used:

Turning on 'remove hot pixels' did not help in case you were wondering

Does anyone know a smooth workflow to fix this? I have about 300 MLV clips and most of them have these weird artifacts.

Here are a few more examples if you are interested:

Thanks Levas
The blurring the UV in YUV channels trick (or AB in LAB) helped me on most of my shots.
However on one shot it didn't work for me, only solution I could come up with was tracking the object and desaturating it.
Here is a link to the DNG file:

Do you know how to deal with these situations?

Much thanks,

Hi Nelson.

You got some nasty moire shots on your 700D. My shots never suffered for such an extreme moire on the 7D.  I've been using the same technique as you did (blurring the UV). Searching the forum/internet for a long time, couldn't find a better solution to remove it. Looks like blurring the color channels is the only trick available.

Have you tried using MLVRaw viewer instead of MlVProducer?

Best.

@qqqavi
Yes I've tried it, MLRaw viewer is good.
But it cannot remove focus pixels
So no option for me with my 700D ;(

700D/650D has focus pixels which are needed for autofocus(which I never use), with raw you have to map those pixels out. And there are a lot of them so manually is not an easy task.

I downloaded the DNG an it's indeed a nasty one.
I couldn't even remove it in RawTherapee :-\
I still keep those orange and blue bars in the left of the frame.

Tracking the object and desaturating is a good idea.

I don't know what lens you are using (there's no info in the DNG) but I do know that wide angle gives much more problems.
I sometimes use the Tokina 10-17mm fisheye, the moire it creates is enormous  :P , but most of the I can get rid of it with RawTherapee or chroma blurring.
Most of the times I use a 35mm lens, which gives a lot less problems.
