I downloaded the DNG an it's indeed a nasty one.
I couldn't even remove it in RawTherapee

I still keep those orange and blue bars in the left of the frame.
Tracking the object and desaturating is a good idea.
I don't know what lens you are using (there's no info in the DNG) but I do know that wide angle gives much more problems.
I sometimes use the Tokina 10-17mm fisheye, the moire it creates is enormous

, but most of the I can get rid of it with RawTherapee or chroma blurring.
Most of the times I use a 35mm lens, which gives a lot less problems.
