Just had a thought if Magic lantern could control the OIS of Lenses then potentially it take pictures where its OIS is pushed to different positions to then take a series of pictures? Then compile in post?
and up the resolution of images?

A bit like the Olympus OM-D E M5 MKII

Any thoughts?

Oly shifts sensor. By moving lens you can can get some kind of 3D but not hi res image:)

Canon's image stabilization works on the lens. If I am not mistaken, all communications between camera and lens are just "switch IS on" / "switch IS off" messages. Thus, this feature seems impossible on Canon hardware.

You might want to check out photo acute:

It relies upon involuntary camera movement (shake between snaps) and may therefore need more images than a structured approach, but they seem to get some good results.

In private correspondence, they confirmed that an AA-less camera would perform better with their approach.
