500d ml non raw crop video?

Hi all, ive just started playing about with ML on my 500d and was wondering if theres a hack for a 550d like 640 crop video, still in h264, but recording the zoom mode for example?      i know its possible with raw video, but the data rate is obviously a limiting factor there regarding fps.
