Time Limitations Removed 5Dm3?
« on: June 15, 2015, 08:59:26 PM »
I heard from someone that the 30 minute record limitation was removed from the 5D Mark 3 through ML? I'm having a hard time finding the info - is this true?

Thanks!

Thank you. So making sure I understand... If I DONT shoot RAW, i will lose a couple of frames at the 30 minute mark, but it will continue to roll, right? It would be for weddings so I would have other angles to cover any dropped frames.

correct.

h264 will miss about half a second or so in between restarts.

RAW/MLV can record continuously pass the 30 minute mark without any dropped/skipped frames.

Awesome! Thank you. That makes me feel a little better. I was afraid I'd have to buy a 256GB card for 550 bucks and pray the ceremony wasn't too long to fit on it because of the size of RAW. If I can stay h.264 then I have nothing to worry about.
