AWPStar, what do you think about compressed DNGs support?

@kgv5
SlimRaw's compression?
It has JPEG compression, same as MLRawViewer. But more optimized.
SlimRaw is not Open Source project.
The only way to get same compression is to develop it from the ground. :)

AWPStar, i was thinking about using compressed DNGs from slimraw in your app. Could you make your app to see the files and process them just like any other DNGs?

What do you think about video importing?  :)
Video->16bit->de-posterization->deblocking->linearization->Bayer pattern
->dng
or
->Debayering

At first, great work from AWPStar so far!

I have been trying now for a moment to fix a hot pixel from my footage with MLVProducer and can't get it done. Is there a bug in a software or can't I just use this right way? Could someone please look at this?

Footage is here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jjgb9kas2a2r89u/AADxspMgdX1hiumpAfxZin__a?dl=0
Footage is from Canon 650D, 1728x724 @ 25,000 fps

There is one hot pixel at left on the footage. Shown in a jpeg file surrounded by blue circle.

Thank you!

Edit: Run with MLVProducer alpha build 2258.

Does it make any sense to record MLV, then convert it to H264 with MLVProducer to edit files in Premiere Pro?

Will it keep the great quailty of the raw video? how much better than H264 straight from the camera would it be? (I'm using a 650D)

I'm new here, just trying to undertand how this all works.

Thanks!

@PabloW
Well, it make sense if you are doing color grading with MLVP.

h264 definitely cannot keep the same quality. but you can get ready-to-edit material. Also you can export to ProRes.

New Feature: PROXY mode
-Fast debayering(faster than "Ultra fast")
-Haft resolution
-Able to render Proxy before original.

I think this should be very useful.

Thanks for the answer :)

I've tried it on windows with bootcamp, it seems very interesting but I don't know why I had slow speed and corrupted output. Sadly no time to dig more into it.
On the first page the developer said that he wanted to do something for mac, if he will ever decide to come back to it please note that MLRV ( http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=9560.0 ) is open source and was at a pretty good point already.
