Hello!

So, as I understand it, using the app DSLR Controller on an Android tablet with a Canon 5D Mk II running Magic Lantern shooting RAW will not work. It will work if you turn RAW off, but when you turn it on the display on the app freezes. I'm basing this info off of fairly old posts, so I'm assuming this issue is still the case.

I haven't tested this idea I have, as I'm waiting for my 5D MK II to arrive, but I was wondering, could you adjust settings (ie. focusing with the settings the app provides) with RAW turned off, then when it's all ready, you switch to RAW and stop monitoring it via the tablet. I understand this defeats the point of it being an external monitor, but I was wondering if this is possible for people purely wanting to use a bigger screen with settings for focusing accurately.

Just a thought!
Thanks,
Sam

One more thought, is it possible to have the camera output a compressed signal (something that isn't RAW) purely for monitoring?
