So I know you guys are very keen on telling people to follow the instructions, but I feel like I am doing jsut that and still not having any luck here. Trying to remove the bootflag from my 650D, applied the update from Card, then I get the install screen:

I wait for 30 seconds and it just goes black and back into normal shooting mode as it seems.
I don't get the "turn dial" screen many online tutorials etc. feature.

If you do this a second time do you still get the message "Bootflag is already set"?

Walter Schulz

Just tested it with Nightly.2015Jan28.650D104 and it works fine.
Your version is?
I used photo mode and dial on M.

Delete Autoexec.bin, 650D_104.fir and ML directory from card and copy extracted nightly contents to card. Retry.
If this doesn't work:
Reset camera to factory defaults (including C.Fn) and retry.

Format card in camera ("keep ML"), copy 650D_104.fir to card and retry.

Card's memory size and file size doesn't matter. Tried with 32 and 64 GByte.
As far as I can tell you did nothing wrong. I'm afraid this is something for the camera emergency department.

Coming here like Walter said, the dirty details again:
Using magiclantern-Nightly.2015Feb20.650D104 on a 650D, when trying to remove the bootflag it just goes to black after the countdown, ML stays installed afterwards.

Here you go, should note that the camera has been left alone for several minutes since that last black screen, so it's not like I'm pressing any button too soon or something.

Also, just to clarify since it doesn't show up so well in the video, it says "Boot flag already set" both times and the status numbers in top right are
0
-1

Looks like it fails to reopen Canon menu, for uninstalling. It's a redundant operation anyway, and I'll try to remove it from installer code.

SEKCobra

Alright, can you update me when it goes live?  ;D

a1ex

Can you try it?

650D_104.fir

If it doesn't work, record a video just like you did before.

SEKCobra

Sorry, didn't expect that speed, so I didn't check back yet, just applied it and it worked by the looks of it!
