Hi all. I installed ML to the sd card and installed it to the 1100D. Accidentally I formatted the card in the camera, so ML has now been uninstalled. While out last night shooting the stars, I quickly noticed that the shutter release no longer works when shooting in BULB. Is this a common error and please, is there a way to rectify the problem.

Many thanks

Steve

Default option for formatting the card is "Keep ML". You have to switch this mode manually to remove ML from the card. The cam's bootflag will not  be affected by formatting.

Please verify you don't have ML on the card. Look for Autoexec.bin and ML directory.

Hi Walter, many many thanks for your speedy reply. When I insert the sd card into the laptop, there is no sign of any ML files what so ever. As I said, I am totally new to ML and I think it is a little over my head to be quite honest. Would re-installing it help do you think, as I need for the shutter to open and close for several hours at a time, but it has left the remote shutter useless on the 1100D, but it works fine with the 450D I also own.

Many thanks again Walter, and I apologies for my lack of knowledge.

I don't own a 1100D but I don't think this problem im related to ML.

Reset camera to factory defaults (including Fn settings) and try again. If it doesn't work as expected reinstall ML on this card.
Copy all extracted ML files (AUTOEXEC.BIN + FIR + ML directory) to card and run firmware update again. Restart cam after installation before timeout sets in and try to use bulb mode.

Results?

Just finished going through the instructions you gave me, although the shutter release still does not work, the intervalometer does, so it is all good now.
Boxing day lunch then give the wiki page a good going through.

Many thanks Walter, hope you enjoy what is left of the holidays
