Hello everyone, I am glad to be a part of this community.  I have a question that I was hoping someone could help me out.

I have a very old build on my Canon 7d of 1.2.2 and decided to give Magic Lantern a try.  However, I heard a good number of people say 2.0.3 is the ideal firmware for Magic Lantern.

Is this statement true?

Also, if I upgrade, is it possible to do a direct update from 1.2.2 to 2.0.3? or will I have to take steps downloading other firmwares to finally get to 2.0.3?

Is this where I should get the 2.0.3 firmware?

Any information will be deeply appreciate.

Thank you!

Canon firmware v2.0.3 is a requirement as the current version of ML has been written around this version. Getting it from the Canon site is fine and yes you can upgrade from your current firmware version directly to v2.0.3.

Note: do not use any other version of Canon firmware as ML is not compatible with them.

Installation instruction and guides can be found for ML here http://wiki.magiclantern.fm/install

Take the time to read the instructions and please use search in the forum to try and find answers to your questions. I personally found, and still find this an invaluable way of learning the do's, don'ts and functioanality of ML.

From a 7D owner, The latest nighlty build of ML for the 7d is very stable.
