I seem to get more consistent write speeds when I use the sd card formatter from sdcard.org. I found out about it via this article: http://www.slrlounge.com/really-format-sd-cards-optimal-performance/

When shooting raw on my EOSM I get a solid 37.7mbps write speed after using the formatter. just wanted to share this tool which has helped me.

How exactly could this be more beneficial by using this formatter online through sdcard.org?

I'm assuming you will have to then reinstall ML every time you do this?

As oppose to doing it within inside the Canon menu when it can easily keep the ML after format.

Thanks for sharing @dpjpandone!

Hello
I thought that I will give this program a test. Results are not great. There is nearly no difference between SD Formatter and Windows formatting software. Here is spreed sheet with all R/W SD Benchmark: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hOIHgCFDGLaDPyFE-flYNSBkfU2rgxBbQP3E-XqCq_4/edit?usp=sharing All the tests were made with Magic Lantern benchmark option and SanDisk Extreme 45 MB/s. I will format my card with SD Formatter from now on but I don't think that it gives any boost for write speed.
