The question is: 9,23v to power a 5d3, is it a good idea?I have bough all the equipment, but I still hesitate, I still have 6 months of credit for this fantastic dslr.....

Something else: I have read somewhere that the genuine Canon DC coupler lowers the input voltage a little (from 8.2-8.4 to 7.4).
BUT I read in B&H

Rated Power Output    7.6 VDC

Maybe it lowers voltage a little.

BUT I WOULD NOT COUNT ON IT. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!

Alternatively you have a voltmeter. So the choice is yours... (You will have to buy the Canon DC coupler though...)

Finally I have made this thing, but never used more than 1 minute cause timelapse with a 50mm, the only lens I have, don't worth the effort of sitting somewhere and waiting an hour until now (a pretty good excuse for not taking the risk of frying my 5D3...)
But it's woking, and I plan to add a diode to protect the thing in a way I don't remember (i'm not a electronician).But I saw that adding a diode is a good thing.
I only regret to not have brought a less cheap one (this one is from china) and not feeling safe.

9v to 7v (instead of 7.4v because with this buck converter it is advised to have a 2 v minimal difference, even if I have not found anywhere what can be the problem if I overide this recommendation).
