Hi,

I'm new here so will take a second to introduce myself. I'm based in New Zealand and in the business end of starting a drone based air photo and survey company with a mate. We use an EOS M with the intervalometer script using Magic Lantern.

At the moment, we are having a few problems with focus. We use a 1sec delay between shots, which is far too fast for auto focus, so we have been using a fixed manual focus instead. This has been problematic in that the manual setting seems to change after attempting to set it to infinity. The manual focus ring doesn't help, as opposed to other lenses, it has no 'stop' at the infinity end. It is a continuous servo giving digital feedback to the chip.

A solution we have come up with has two steps:

1. Find the particular digital setting for good focus at infinity, and

2. force the camera into this setting for duration of the flight.

Is there a way to do this? I'd appreciate others thoughts and input on the matter.

Thanks for your time,

Mike
