Without liveview? you mean Powersave options in ML menu? What other options you suggest? I normally shoot 2.5k with theese:
Canon options off (auto lightning, noise reduction, etc.)
MLV sound off
Dual-ISO -3 or -4
Exp. override on
Exp sim. on
GDraw off (after taking exposure)
FPS override at 23,976
Shutter fine-tuning - to match 180°
RAW MLV on 2560x1090, aspect 2.35:1, Preview ML Grayscale, Status none, SRM job memory on, extra hacks on, fix black on, Card spanning on, Reserve card spase on, leaving the rest to default values.

The flickering could be because of grading in adobe camera raw. Since you use the the 20-bit binary drag and drop method I think
you could call the --same-levels command implemented by Alex to get a same level conversion in the conversion stages.

Sorry, or it is too geeky for me or I'm too slow for that... anyway, it's the same
I'm on windows (I think the "terminal" is referred on a linux machine...?), can you suggest me a way to eliminate flickering (or explain me better this "--same-levels", or any helpful link in forum)? Any good alternative te ACR to suggest?

Great job with the sigma! 22mm on 2.5k 14bit video with a 5D3... wow! unbelievable! The only thing missing it would be a global shutter but I think this will be impossible even for you ML genius! Who knows, may be one day!

Not sure how to work the cmd, sorry.
Someone simply renamed the cr2hdr file to cr2hdr --same-levels and used the drag and drop. You could try that. More info to find here.

You have preview modes in raw settings. There is one setting called hacked which will freeze the live view and give you about 10mb extra memory.

"C:\camera raw dual iso converter\cr2hdr-20bit.exe"  --same-levels
putting this info here to save time for people who dont know (like me)

Made another video using dual iso 3x zoom mode. I made progress in using acr in postproduction. I totally skipped using highligt recovery and shadow sliders etc. Only temper with white balance and exposure and only use the tone and point curve for highlight, contrast etc. It works really good and without flicker.

I just processed my dual iso DNG's in Lightroom but there is one problem. It seems that every alternating DNG has a different white balance color despite all of my DNG's being synced to have the exact same white balance. One has a green tint and the other a pink tint. Did you have this problem?

What camera are you using? Could you put up a sample dng?

Camera is a 5D Mark III. I used the CR2HDR20BIT algo through Magic Lantern RAW Video Converter 1.9.2 to process the MLV files to Dual Iso DNGs. Then when I opened up the DNGs in Lightroom, despite syncing them all to have the same white balance, each alternating DNG frame has a slightly different white balance. Here are two sample DNGs.

This is information about whitebalance from within the cr2hdr20bit binary

"White balance:
--wb=graymax    : set AsShotNeutral by maximizing the number of gray pixels (default)
--wb=graymed    : set AsShotNeutral from the median of R-G and B-G
--wb=exif       : set AsShotNeutral from EXIF WB (not exactly working)
--wb=%f,%f,%f   : use custom RGB multipliers (default 2,1,2)"



That is strange. One is greener than the other. When I look at the exif information I see a difference in asShotNeutral but I have no idea if changing this will help. Tried to but it didn,t seem to make any difference. My guess is the cr2hdr is applying some algorithms on whitebalance when converting dual iso files but I am not sure. Here is the information from both files if someone elese wants to have a look.

I presume you actually mean to say that you are syncing them all to have the same levels (i.e. the "--same-levels" option).  That is not the same as syncing the white balance.

No HDR was not turned on. Just dual iso and MLV.

Same problem as before. Although the "asShotNeutral" settings are exactly the same in the original unprocessed dng:s. Maybe try export the mlv to dng with mlvrawviewer or using the mlvfs method. I still havn,t seen this type of problem with my camera.

The AsShotNeutral values in the unprocessed DNGs are the same because they're just default values that don't take into account the actual photo; the white balance is determined in the processing stage by cr2hdr.

I don't have a camera that can do dual-ISO video, so I was surprised to see that the unprocessed DNGs have different brightness patterns: "ddBB RGGB" for 0.dng and "BddB RGGB" for 1.dng.  That is, it looks like the set of lines that are the primary ISO actually switches from frame to frame.  Is this true for all dual-ISO video?  Or is this some consequence of the 5D3 pixel binning?  Whatever the reason, this behavior may be what is causing the white-balance calculations to oscillate.

I think you,re right Ayshih.
Here is two of my dng;s. The lines are exactly the same pattern on these contrary to senzazn12. I shoot in raw but I don,t think I got the issues with mlv. Can,t be sure. Gotta do some more testing. I used a different aspect ratio here as well.

You are right ayshih. I've noticed this in my dual ISO experiments with MLVFS. On my 60D whenever I shoot in crop mode the dual ISO lines alternate through all 4 possibilities => ddBB, BddB, BBdd, dBBd. In regular mode it seems to be the same in every frame.

I see. So it happens in crop mode (for Windows users)? I'll test tomorrow using dual iso in regular mode to see if I get same result when I was shooting crop mode.
