I have been trying to process some raw footage and it's taking ages... For example in 3 hrs last night I managed to process two clips each with about 1000 dng files!! I use ACR and I hVe a fairly old MacBook Pro 2009..... I also have to take the raw files from my external hd and then extract back to it which may be an issue.... Has anyone else experienced anything like this?? Beginning to think my USB connection is causing it or my comp might be done ....

USB 2.0 is limited to less than 40 MByte/s (60 MByte/s in theory) and you're pretty much lost.

USB 3.0 will allow much faster rates if your external drive is up to the task.
- External hard drive with "old style" spinning media: Sorry, this is just so 2009 and won't make you happy.
- External SSD: You may think about using this.
