Ok, here is a short clip from the full 43 minute relaxation film I shot in Dominican Republic using Magic Lantern RAW. Watch it in 1080p, sorry about Youtube compression, the original looks way better of course :) BTW, Lexar CF card x1066 is amazing in delivering required speeds (106MB/s for 29.97fps).

thanks, I tried a 32Gb Lexar 1066x card with 1.1.3 fw and couldn't manage to get 30p

Can you share what firmware your running and did you use RAW_REC or MLV_REC? any settings that would enable me to test this out would be extremely appreciated.  :D

Wow! How do I get to this place! Awesome work!

Didnt see too many people on the beach or in the water though. Is this a restricted / reserved area?
Canon 5D Mark III, Gopro Hero Blacks with 3D Casing, A Few Lenses, Adobe CC 2014, MacBook Pro, Windows 8 PC, Lots of Video Rig!

Started Nuke. Loved it but then the 15 day trial ran out. Back to After Effects and loving it :-)

Just use the small hacks with RAW_REC to freeze the LV, the speed will jump up to 109MB/s Thanks to the developers, I am so glad ML exists!

I am so glad that Dominicans flock to just a few popular beaches leaving the rest empty, they love big crowds and thank GOD, the places I filmed look too boring for them. To my surprise, the locals can't swim in their majority, they just hangout in shallow waters throwing plastic trash around them.

Great shots, did you use a polarizing or ND filter to make those skies pop like that? If yes it would be great to know what kind!

Thanks! I used B&W circular polarizing filter. But of course you need to work in post also

Is it true 1080 or upscaling?I have the same Lexar card, and even with card spanning on a sd card (cat 10) and LV hack I can't expect more than 3 seconds in mlv no sound.

Upscaling? why would you do it on Mark 3? You are recording on SD card, that's the problem!

No, I use card spanning (record on lexar+sd card), so it's faster than only on my lexar 1066.I can record 2500x1024 24fps maybe 10 sec with this mode, but no more than 3 sec in 1920x1080 29,97.

Maybe try not using card spanning and setup your Lexar as the default card? I can record non-stop 1080p 29.97fps till the card fills up and if I use 128GB card, the recording also doesn't stop with average speeds of 103-109MB/s What is your speed?

I think the question slipped through the cracks earlier, what firmware are you using 1.1.3 or 1.2.3?

sylvain_c

Thanks for your help, I can now record non stop in hacked mode(i have done a 30 sec test with the logo in green, so it's ok for me).I Think the problem was global draw on, and raw+L instead of raw only in photo mode.
benchmark CF only: 87Mb/s max
benchmark CF+SD: 82 + 16Mb/s

This lexar card is a lot slower than yours...
If the question was for me mixmastermike, my firmware is 1.1.3.
