Scorpius and Milkyway

ML Bulb timer (5 min) and intervalometer enabled.
Canon 5d2 with EF 50/F1.4 @ F2.8
5 min and ISO 800 x6, 5min and ISO 400 x2, 5min and F3.5 x2
Tracking with a DIY mount

I'm not the OP, but most DIY star tracking is done in the 'hinge' or 'barndoor' style.



Spinning the drive bolt raises/lowers the lens angle. With a bit of math you can time it so 1/2 turn = 1 sec (or whatever you prefer).

Thanks! I was thinking stepper motors and electronics :)
This is much more doable.

I have heard of barndoor styles before and when searching them they looked extremely complicated, the one you have posted looks much more simple and easier to follow, thanks again.

ooo, if possible do you have a design layout for it that I can follow please?

EDIT: Sorry just saw you have measurements on the image.. my bad.

Sorry, no. I picked up the URLs and tried to see them but I get this message: "Safari could not open the page as the server stopped responding".

I can see them using Google Chrome & Safari, i don't recommend using Safari as its rubbish.
