I'm not the OP, but most DIY star tracking is done in the 'hinge' or 'barndoor' style.



Spinning the drive bolt raises/lowers the lens angle. With a bit of math you can time it so 1/2 turn = 1 sec (or whatever you prefer).

I have heard of barndoor styles before and when searching them they looked extremely complicated, the one you have posted looks much more simple and easier to follow, thanks again.

Sorry, no. I picked up the URLs and tried to see them but I get this message: "Safari could not open the page as the server stopped responding".

I can see them using Google Chrome & Safari, i don't recommend using Safari as its rubbish.
