One feat useful on camera without c mode should be to add a submenu to global drag to enable or disable saving of some camera options like shutter, ISO etc. specific to each disp preset we are.

DISP RESTORE
-----------------
change DIPS: 1 || 2 || 3 || 4
ISO: ON || OFF
EV:
AV:
C.Fn:
and so on...
I'm using ML2.3 for photography with:
EOS 600DML | EOS 400Dplus | EOS 5D MLbeta5- EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro  - EF-S 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS USM - EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM - 580EXII - OsX, PS, LR, RawTherapee, LightZone -no video experience-

I had some experiments with custom configs (each beginner mode loading a different config file), but caused major stability problems.

Here's an old patch, if you want to play with it: http://a1ex.magiclantern.fm/bleeding-edge/multiconfig.patch

Probably loading the config in a separate task (not directly from prop handler) is enough to fix most problems. Also, a few things may require restart (but most settings take effect just by changing the variables).

Canon settings are not affected by this - only ML settings.

about restart, can you force it? without turning off and on camera?
