I recorded the 1080p 422 8bit signal from the HDMI of my 5d3 with firmware 1.2.3 and the nightly build successfully while recording raw to the camera. All overlays on the screen on the back of the camera disappeared, when the recorder was connected, I am not sure if this has been fixed yet. I doubt that any kind of record trigger will work at this point but I didn't try the latest builds for some time.
Ninja Blade should work the same, if not better!
