Controlling ML-enabled camera from PC

Hi,
I am new to the forum, so pls pardon my ignorance.
I need to control the camera  from a custom app running on PC (Windows) and do things like trigger a shot, set shot parameters, stream live view back to PC, etc. I currently do it using Canon's edsdk API, which is OK for the most part, but does not seem to be supported any longr, and I cant do some of the things I need (i.e. video).

Does ML enable anything in the tethered control department, or can ML features be used using any other API from PC? I really need this.
