New EOS M install can't get menu with 2 finger tap

Installed 2/23 version and everything went fine and got the confirmation green text screen that its working.  However tapping the screen with 2 fingers just takes a picture, it doesn't bring up the TL menu.  Once I take a picture I can see TL working, showing the whited out areas and the blacked out areas.  But why can't I get to the menus?

Updated to 2/25 on a brand new Transcend 16gb card, and now get the dreaded shutter lock on the first double tap of the screen.  It's trying to take a picture, but can't, until I twist the lens and break the contacts, then it takes a picture.  From then on, it will take a picture each time I double tap the screen rather than bring up the menu.

Has something changed since Oct when the Shooters Guide was put together?  New secret handshake required now??  Any other way to bring up the menu??

Turn off touch shutter in the canon menu.
