is it possible to output 16x9 on a 7d/Magic Lantern?

I'd like to help you if you would be more specific in your question. What output are you talking about? HDMI or usb av? or in your recorded video? Raw or h264?

I'd like to stream a 16x9 output from the 7d hdmi port to my encoder if that's possible. I tried it today, and while i get a clean video stream it's 4x3.

yes. with pillar box.

Before I have seen a few users crop it in post.
