Here are some test 0x10 and 0x12 at ISO 12800

0x10 using binning mode 1x3 looks greenish with striped like horizontal line

0x10 crop_rec OFF ISO 12800

change to 0x12

0x12 ISO 12800

I didn't see any different so far.. except using binning 1x3 with iso 12800 got very dark image

I didn't see any vertical line but horizontal line
I will try again later and see if there is any difference.

"LANCIR offers up to three times faster image resizing in comparison to AVIR. The quality difference is, however, debatable. Note that while LANCIR can take 8- and 16-bit and float image buffers, its precision is limited to 8-bit resizing."

--> Yes, but it is just faster. We internally use 3x16bit color information, but this would finally limit the pipeline to 3x8bit, but consuming the time of the 16bit pipeline for all other algorithms. (256 colors of possible 65536 per channel as result)

ooh I see..

avir ver. 3.0 has LANCIR 3.0.7 as part of the library and much faster he said here

It's not difficult to test yourself, all you need is a build for your camera, where the option is enabled.

You can ask in the forum of your camera if someone can make a build where it is enabled.

The option is in the 'raw.c' file, located in the 'src' folder in the source files.

For example in the source on magic lantern page:

In this example, it's on code line 37
Code: [Select]
#undef RAW_DEBUG_TYPE   /* this lets you select the raw type (for PREFERRED_RAW_TYPE) from menu */

All someone has to do is change the 'undef' to 'define' and you will have an option in debug menu to alter the raw type value which will be used for raw video recording.

So the line has to be changed to:
Code: [Select]
#define RAW_DEBUG_TYPE   /* this lets you select the raw type (for PREFERRED_RAW_TYPE) from menu */

There are a lot of raw types value to choose from, some might freeze your camera, but in that case, pull out battery and try again  : ;D
There aren't that many clean raw type streams, most contain the purple pixels.
I think for Digic V an Digic VI the values are the same, so I expect default is 0x10 on other cams and first thing to try would be value 0x12.
Then do some comparison in low light high iso (6400 or higher) and see if there is any difference.

Edit: you can't see changes to raw type in canon liveview, but it will do show up in ML preview, the slow low resolution preview option available in raw video menu.

Thanks for the idea..

Has anyone compiled this for the 5d3 (113)?
I use Danne's source code

here I tried to compile it for you

copy *.mo files from your ML/modules (except 5d3_113.sym) and ML/script from your 5d3.113 build to the same folder in this build

I hope it helps.

I've just learn to compile for 700D from bilal's source code here
I have tested it and works.

Just bought canon 10-18mm lens and tested it.
I like the sharpness of this lens.

I add setting and workflow in the description of this video.

nice and looks pro.. 👍

Yes, I think so, too.

Comparison MLVapp Feature Dual Iso OFF and ON
All scenes are just using the default settings in MLVapp with no additional creative adjustments except increasing the shadows a bit.

Truly, I'm quite impress with the result.

Yes, I do have a suggestion for you.  When you post these videos, please provide more detailed explanations on your camera settings and MLVApp creative adjustments, if you wish to be helpfull to those who wish to learn from you, just as you learn from others.  Otherwise people have to guess what you did and this is not the best way to learn.

For example, I like the way you blend the unprocessed with the processed image.  How do you do that?  Is there an easy way to do that in Resolve?
noted.. thanks.
but sorry I don't know how to explain in English, so I tried to put some information that I use in the video afaik.
I think guessing is one of the learning process that push someone to try.

for example, like my previous video "Mixed World" - Zeek Film Look (700D feat EOS-M) my idea was come from zeek and in his channel he didn't explain how to grade in MLVapp or premiere pro then I try to imitate his way using my workflow of course with try and error until I get closer to his work.

My biggest part done in MLVapp then finishing in premiere pro (trim, transition, sound, aspect ratio etc.) as simple as that. why? because this is the best way my mini PC can handle.

when I'm stuck, I ask like I asked to you and masc. that's why in this video I use "Film preset" like masc with his "3/5 Reinhard" preset but I tried other gammut like ProPhoto RGB, Adobe RGB etc. and adjust like you adjust in Davinci Resolve accordingly.

My workflow
MLVapp: Film profile + Adobe RGB + creative adjustment + filter "E100"
Premiere Pro: Final edit + super 16mm film grain

It's not perfect but fun.. 😊
partially footages is from Zeek youtube channel

I get this problem with dualiso, I noticed it appeared around the small edge of the image at a certain distance. I once asked this in Bilal's thread post.
here is the file --> M19-1046.MLV

Thanks a lot bilal..
I really appreciate it
