is there any different using 2.35 crop mood vs 16:9 convert to 2.35 aspect ratio in post?

this is simple color grade to make "cinematic" look using MLVapp creative adjustment and davinci resolve in post.

I test 700D Crop Mood 2023Aug19 from Bilal's Build and made this video to compare MLVapp features between default and custom creative adjustment features..

I think MLVapp is a great tool for editing MLV Raw footage from magiclantern so far

actually ProRess 422 LT is good if there is no heavy edit in the process
it save space and still preserve image quality..

in this clip I use Prores 422 LT and final process export to xavc 1920x1080 (no color grade) just minor adjustment

test crop mood 1x1 and 1x3

MLVapp rec. 709 preset export to 422 HQ
edit in davinci resolve 21:9 Aspect ratio
lens I use efs 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6

I wonder why I like close up than wide shoot, it looks better to my eyes.

I made this video using picture style and edit in premiere pro then export to prores 422

using marvels cine v3.4 picture style in comparison between standard and mlv raw recording. Unfortunately has no effect when recording mlv raw but the result add more dynamic range detail in standard recording.

All scenes are just using the default settings in MLVapp with no additional creative adjustments except increasing the shadows a bit.

Truly, I'm quite impress with the result.

trying to shoot in low light and using RBF denoiser to pull out a bit detail in the shadow.
it's hard but worth trying.

My short video creating "Dramatic Look" in MLVapp 

I made new video titled "The Color of Life.." lol
in this video I tried to color corrected using some features in MLVapp, the result is just my personal taste.
as usual, I use 16:9 UHD 1x3 setting from ML bilal's build with 10 bits 25fps. all outdoor video recorded with 50mm-f/4.0 iso 100 in camera.
ML RAW exported to 2048 x 1152 ProRes 422 HQ after edited.
in premiere pro I just re-wrap the clip after given some transition, effect and song.. to 422 again and then upload to youtube with 3 Gb size lol.. but it took less than 30 minutes I guess.
some clip is repeated just to fit the song..  here it is: (set to HD for better view)

just share my noob experience.. lol
I use intel celeron, it takes 20 minutes to render 2K video with 50 seconds duration 
but before this, it was impossible.. so I googling then found that h.264 is bad for editing
and then I change to ProRes 422 in MLV app and get much better with 2K in editing.
for uploading to youtube I convert the video to mp4 with h.265 codec.. here it is:

After struggling with magic lantern things, here is my others video using the same gear..
there is some flickering in the video because I use standard setting 16:9 3x3 binning mode
I think 50mm lens is good when shoot close to the object like I did in this video.

This is my video test with magic lantern and MLVapp v1.13 workflow

Finally, after try and error, I made this video using ML RAW with Dual ISO and ML App, It's not perfect video but the easiest workflow I think.

I don't know if it is good or not,
I just try making a video while learning to use the camera.
