Ok, I need some help here. Maybe a dumb question but... I made all the steps for processing my dual iso photo and in the end I cannot open the final DNG file. Which version of Photoshop and ACR do I need? I have Photoshop CS3 and ACR 4.6.

Try running the Dual ISO DNG through Adobe DNG Converter (FREE) and set the ACR to match what you have. I don't think you'll find anyone here actively using that old of a version of Photoshop. Beside all of the advances in photo processing in the last 5+ years.... it may be time to think about an upgrade. At least try Lightroom 5.6 it's free for 30 days...

I know it's a long shot.. but I just purchased the 70D but the one thing that I found annoying was that it can't record 1080p at 60fps yet surely this camera is more than powerful enough to support it right?

Could 1080p 60fps support be added in a future official firmware update or possibly added with ML?

Start by running a Benchmark test in camera on your card. Then go back and look at the resolution you selected it will tell you what you need to run continuous.

Second look around on the forums for answers these are all basic newb everyday posts...

Just don't use what you don't want or don't understand esp now since it's Module based...or, since it's open source modify it as you see fit. I think a lot of people forget this important fact.

You want it customized to your personal tastes then carry on with doing so. Actually, what your looking for is already somewhat there as an option but it requires that you do it. (Disable Menu Entries)

There's no issue other than not researching something before getting into using it....

Nightly Builds are complied as changes are made... no changes no need for a new Nightly.

basic steps:

- setup arm toolchain to have arm gcc and compiler tools
- download source code from official repository: www.bitbucket.org/hudson/magic-lantern
- start porting, follow the 5dc and 40d ports since they are both vxworks as well.

first step is to extract a firmware update from a signed canon updater (refer to tools here_. after you have mapped some of the firmware out and understand how it works, begin porting ML.

Adapt cache_hack boot method from 40D init.c (under platforms/40d folder in ML sourcecode) and boot the main firmware, while hooking your first task in.
Then, enable bootflag (to allow booting with autoexec.bin file), then dump the whole firmware (0xFF810000 - 0xFFFFFFFF). enabling the bootflag will allow you to boot with just the autoexec.bin file without packing it into a signed FIR update file.

If you want to use what dmilligan posted a link to than yes, you need a Nightly Build and to download the Module in the link then add to the module folder of newly downloaded files after extraction...

quick question.. How do you get the washed out/raw  LOOK out of the camera? It seems to be auto colored in CameraRaw in After Effects.

Color Grade your files to taste. Thats whats great about RAW.

Or look in the Post Processing Forum for one of many color profiles or long posts on doing just that, color grading.

I was under the impression that the lighting conditions where you test can have an effect on the results. Don't they?

They do for me... inside/outside totally different numbers using FoCal which is usually very accurate.

Or isn't there a new build made if nothing has changed in the sourcecode ?

Bingo... no build if no changes.

My impression from several videos and the forums was that ML would remain active when starting the camera until the disable procedure was performed.  It would be odd, IMO, if you couldn't change CF cards while using ML, or if you had to have the ML files on every card you use.

I've never once seen or heard of anyone do this.

ML installs nothing to the camera. Only sets a flag telling the camera to look on the card for a file and run it. So you'd need the card with the bootflag set and ML files on it in the camera for ML to run. I can't understand why you'd pull a card out of the camera in use without shutting it down first or any plus side to doing it. In fact that would be a bad habit to get into while using ML.

ML is working the way it was intended. If you want other cards to run ML make them bootable and copy the ML files to them.

work on 50D ? i dont see this in my 50D 

Compile source code for yourself or wait for it to be included in Nightly Release... it's experimental.

I don't understand, In the ML settings it says for 1920 you need a card that can record 82.9MB/s and this card obviously is capable of that or atleast thats what lexar/B&H states.

Run a Card Benchmark those numbers stated by B&H/Lexar mean nothing...

Canon implemented new sensor tech and new lenses to do this... how would that work on a 3-5 years old budget camera through add on software alone?

I did it the way i remember my T3i install.
- low level format of card on camera. Then stuck the card into the Mac.
- downloaded latest build from http://builds.magiclantern.fm/#/
-  Copied 700D_113.fir & autoexec.bin & ML folder to card
- started camera and clicked Trash but nada

You need to run the firmware update before restarting the camera and pressing the trash button...
