General Development / Re: Config presets
May 19, 2020, 10:06:18 AM
I just tried this with my camera, I moved all my ML/SETTINGS stuff and dropped it into a new folder "Video_RAW" and it showed up on my config presets easy. Can't wait to make some other presets, and this will make setting up my cards so much quicker! It's been a little bit exhausting to comb through the menu each time I set up a card, and I'm really nitpicky about making sure my cards are consistent across the board. This will help so much.

EDIT: I notice when I try to choose my preset and then reboot, the mlv_rec and mlv_snd modules are turned off. when I try to turn on the mlv_rec and mlv_snd modules and reboot, they do not turn on still. If the Preset is supposed to be a new path to get the files, do I just move all the files created into a preset folder? (right now in my folder i have only my preset folder in ML/SETTINGS.

My preset folder contains:

bench.en
magic.cfg
mlv_play.en
mlv_rec.cfg
mlv_rec.en
mlv_snd.cfg
mlv_snd.en

Is there a particular format to title the issue? I want to make sure I'm following their title format.

Hello my name is Vinh, from Sacramento, CA. I recently decided to try out magic lantern since I was able to pick up a used T2i and a T3i and was interested in improving its functionality for use with video. Since I am just starting to learn videography (I have about a year in learning photography), I figured it would be a good idea to go in the deep end and learn with programs and software I may end up using as I advance anyways. I'm looking to start a photography business, however I do have a background in mechanical engineering so technology interests me still even though my current career is working in the restaurant industry to pay the bills. I would like to learn Magic Lantern both in using it as well as its architecture, as I have a small desire to possibly learn some of the underpinnings of how to program it or how to deal with the code. Not saying I could do very much, since I never really was good at programming in school, but perhaps this is interesting enough to give me the motivation to try. Thank you for all the development thus far, and I look forward to being a part of this community.
