1 can mlv raw be exported and uploaded to youtube in hdr? (just read that tube now streams hdr content)

2 how to do this? containers, programs, formats via premiere pro?

3. dont edit on a hdr screen so i cant se the increased color range but one might get lucky?

got a tip not using uncompressed avi on export but instead use  prores. but i cant find it under quicktime render options/format?

Had really really bad luck with cloudy wether. were hoping for the colours to pop during sunlight, but 90% were cloudy. also it was extremely stressful with all gear, 2 cameras. (i was one man band), i know i need another cameraman if i do another gig. but it was fun.

well its 20minutes compressed down to a 3minute wedding trailer all shot in raw.

give lots of constructive feedback i know i have alot to learn. im sad there were to much clouds n shades thruought the video though.

i shoot raw with 50d and t4i  and get a very nice picture right out of acr. skintones are beautiful, albleit a bit too wide range of colours in other parts of the image.  i dont use log/flat image right now, loving the canon original colours.

when applying filmconvert every preset gives wierd brownish or to orangy skintones. needing to lower filmconverts colour to 15% to be usable but it makes little difference to the picture.

is it this way, am i doin wrong? (will start using a log profile soon though)

what ive seen compairing these two (am i right?)

1080p image is very close to eachother.

5d3 has a slight increase in

- resolution (5d3 a bit sharper in 1080p)
- low light (5d3 better)
- dynamic range (a little bit more stop in 5d3)

BUT

its pretty minor. colours are practically same. the 1080p image in 24p of these two cameras is practically the same. the image quality of the 5d3 is around 10% better.

am i right or wrong here?

whenever i export from raw dngs to .mp4 (dual vbr) 150mbps- 200mbps via aftereffects or  premiere pro i can still see the quality degradation.

is there just the way it is?

My workflow (i only shoot raw)

1. mlv producer/mlv mystic, create dng folder.
2. acr via adobe aftereffects
3. export to avi via aftereffects.

Imort avi files to Premiere pro

edit, but what to export? 100mb/s mp4 file?

also the uncompressed avi files ar HUGE. am i working wrong?

I press the + and get the first magnification try fiddling with resolution in raw 16:9 or 2.35 but the resolution is always 1500 × 880 ish.

1. am i in the crop mode?
2. why is the resolution always the same?
3. what am i doin wrong? ive heard 50d should do 1980×1020 in crop?

Has there been any comparison of 10 vs 12vs 14 bitdepth mlv rawvideos? How less good is 12vs14? can anyone notice the difference?

im guessing 10bit vs 14bit raw is pretty noticable?

my summer vaccation bringin my good ol t4i with mlv raw , and my a6300 for some downscaled 6k clips. both cams intercut pretty nicely and each have their pros n cons.

last 2 minutes isnt serious so i recommend only watching the first 3 minutes. can u telka what is canon raw and what is 4k?

been watching mlv raw videos and gh4/g7 videos on youtube and compairing both.

while the gh4/g7 beats mlv raw in resolution i feel gh4/g7 feels very "videoish" (not so cinematic)

is it the canon colours and organic feel of rawvideo that makes this? very hard to put a finger at.

could anyone explain? what do you think.

when inputtin 16bit .avi (lossless files) from aftereffects to sony vegas the preview looks good. but upon exporting there is a black crush going on?
i use mpg main concept mp4 file as output and 135 000mbps .

got a 32 gig and a 16gig scandisc extreme pro. while the 16gig version can record 10 seconds 1790x690 the 32gb version just records 5 seconds. Thats half the time. same card diffrent sizes :/ any ideas.

when filming in the widest aspect ratio, is there anyway to get ahold of framing line cropmarks?

im guessing full 16:9 framing marks does not apply when shooting wider?

Sorry for the youtube compression and shakey cam in the beginning before the beholder ds1 stabilizer comes into play.

i run 1780 × 692 with a 2:50:1 aspect ratio.

when pressing "rec" the cropmarks (black bars) dissapere and i dont know my framing.
is there any way to have  the black bars remain eaven after pressing rec?

I run 650d at 1790 x 972 (or something like that) in 18fps. this gives me around 6-6.5 seconds of pretty nice quality.

i would like to when rawshooting 1 video is finished, that it automatically restarts videoing after about 3-4 seconds? is that possible? i tried movie tweeks "restart shooting" but it wont work?

when trying to record raw on my 650d it seems to go to 5x crop mode instead of 3x cropmode like on my 600d.

is there someway and if so, how do i enter 3x crop mode on my 650d? :/

Sorry, wasnt able to get the focus right waking up with blurry eyesight very tired in the middle of the night to capture this.

but due to the extremley easy timelaps feature of ML, (ht fps override) i managed to at least capture the spirit of it.

Is 48p (48 frames per second) achiavable via magic lantern? I Guess its not achivable in 1080mode but in 720 mode?

If you were to record 720p with 60frames per second and the shutter fps override to 1/12 and then in post use slowmo to get normal speed but great more f stops.

can 60fps really be recorded i720 with fps override?

Ive read that to get the best cinematic picture you should record at 48-50 shutterspeed.

Im using ML and can only get 47 then next shutterspeed stop is 60.

how do i unlock 48 or 49 or 50 in videomode shutterspeed?

I played around yesterday with ML and i stumbeld on (Didnt know what i did) a very neat feature that made the  up/down/left/right arrow buttons on the camera tunr out to (left-right) iso and up/down (white balance)

This was extremely nice and useful.

How do i acces that awsome combo again?
