Too funny, I just found mlvapp and it appears to be working. Came back to post it and you suggested the same :D

Thanks for the help!

Not much you can do with the T3i regarding RAW as far as I know (I have one).  The camera hardware is limited to about 22MB/s I believe.  Grab a T5i or EOSM / EOSM2 where you can overclock the SD card reader/writer to around 70MB/s.

Raw Video / Trouble viewing and converting MLV files
November 05, 2019, 05:45:09 AM
I finally got my hands on a T5i and installed the 4k ML variant.
I can get continuous recording most of the time with 2.5k
The playback on the camera look pretty good.

I cannot whatsoever get the MLV files to convert to DNG or play in the MLRawViewer.
The viewer locks up and is black but will split out the audio file and play it in a loop.
Using a few converters, DNG files and thumbnails end up all static.

Files from my T3i always play and get converted just fine.
I don't know what's going on.  Please help :)

Camera-specific Development / Re: ML on EOS-M2

So what is the current write speed for the M2.  I spent a few minutes looking but haven't come up with an answer.
Debating between buying the M or M2 and right now I seen an M2 for $152 which seems like a good deal compared to $130 for an M

Which do you recommend for RAW?
Which do you recommend for normal + continuous AF?

I'm looking to upgrade my T3i so I can take advantage of some RAW video action and gain continuous AF.
Problem is I'm finding it hard to determine what features are available for more recent cameras so I'm hoping someone familiar can help me out.

From what I can tell it appears the EOS M is the top player as far as being affordable at $150.  I'm just not a fan of the size and battery life and the fact I need a lens adapter and the auto focus sensor is apparently right next to the lens mount so my accessories will block it and make AF slow.  I don't want to spend any more than $600-$700 and want to be able to do at least raw 1080/24.  1080/60 compressed would be nice as well.

Is there anything that fits?
