Hi, I need to recover MLV files from an erased hard drive but no program look like do it.

I have seen there is one called Photorec that look like it does it but I don't see any executable file or any way to enter into terminal and how it to executed it from there

There is not an easy way? Thanks!!

I have 5D MII, and last Magic Latern nightly build. Iif you make the hack more and more difficult to shoot like putting overlays, or sound, more frames per second, or increase the space of information in the sensor to get, I see you start to need faster and faster card to achieve the constant ratio of frames.

BUT

If I just want to get a 2.35 panoramic ratio at 23,976 I see that the card demands start to decrease because I just lost a lot of information on the top and down the frame and also the frame rate is less, so magic lantern just ask me from 50 to 65 Mb of speed, but I have a 90Mb faster card so I still would have a little gap at least until 70 or 75 that I think is the limit of 5D mark II to INCREASE RESOLUTION.

BUT

The maximun magic lantern let me to increase is up to 1856x790 but I`m sure that the system would be able of getting better resolution in this frame rate and widescreen option or if not, getting rid of the sound and getting externally. So, what do you think? Am I crazy? Where I could ask for this feature of getting able at least to get 1920x1080p ? Actually you can get this resolution in 3x CROP MODE so Why not?

I have the last magic lantern nightly firmware but I dont know how to make that the monitor of the camera dont switch off when I put an output hdmi. I have to record too but it can be in h264, doesnt have to be in raw, and the quality could be 720p.

Today Adobe has released his Adobe Premiere 2015 - 15 June release. I have create a virtual drive with MLVFS from my MLV folder. Then I have import the first DNG of the clip into premiere. Premiere just gets the entire clip and not only that but I can play it in real time and with the new lumetri tools I can make a color correction in real time of my RAW material with my macbook pro from 2011. The footage maybe gets late from the audio a bit but if I put half resolition editing this gets fixed.

Just test it. Before today I had to put ii in after effects and render like 1 hour to see a single shot and never in real time. That´s crazy!!

Somebody knows why MLV of magic lantern sound have random glitches? I can't trust that system for a serious shooting.

Any way of fixing this?

I have been doing some test with CANON 5D MARK 2 and even if I shoot 7 minutes shot with about 11.500 frames, and Rawmagic saw them, when it convert it just release about 8500 dng frames but I'm not missing any file or anything and I don't get any error message. Thats weird.

Also want to know why magic lantern with audio in MLV format + WAV give me so many audio glitches. You can´t trust this audio for any serious shooting.
