I'd like to share 2 clips using the newest build at 5k anamorphic rewired 10bit. Footage is not upscaled and is the highest I've ever recorded. If you can see from the footage, there seems to be a lag issue. I'm not sure if it has to do with my card but I do get relatively long recording times so I'm not sure whats going on. When trying to combine these 2 clips in adobe premiere, I get an "Error compiling movie" and windows is telling me I'm running low on ram (Ryzen 5 2600x setup w/ 16 gigs)

Footage is really beautiful at this resolution but I'm starting to feel bottle necked by my computer's performance.

ahh sorry, just realized I didn't select aspect ratio to any value. everything is working fine  :-X

@turnlemons2lemonad

What is your ISO on? I would probably need to test it out more but using mcm rewire w/ my Ikan VL35 field monitor, I get no pink frame drops when iso was set to 100. When I tried it out at night at iso ~1600, I was getting pink frames like crazy.

higher iso = more cpu intensive?

Tested out the Ikan vl35 on the 5k mode. I read how there will be pink frame drops but I was really praying it might not happen to me ....but it did. lol

Here is a video to show what it looks like. Also, I couldn't get 'framing mode' just a live view where everything was distorted.

Absolutely loving the new aperture up and down custom buttons. Sometimes, clicking the buttons too fast or soon causes a glitch where the aperture shoots all the way up or down.

When it gets dark, i switch back to the iso custom buttons.

Makes shooting so much more enjoyable :)

Sorry can't seem to figure this one out.

I am trying use my desktop monitor as an external display. However, I cant seem to get anything to display using the mv1080p MCM rewire mode.

The mv1080p 45/48/50 fps 10 bit mode & h264 bit works fine though. Popping out the ML card and using the regular canon software also works fine.

Does this have to do with my monitors display settings (resolution, hertz..) being incompatible with the mcm rewire mode?

Could be added. But iso will stay at 100 until aperture is all the way open. So basically when you want to shoot at iso 100 outdoor you'll only be changing aperture when using the existing iso + aperture hot keys.

It could be added as an independent setting leaving iso completely alone? A third option in customize buttons. Iso can still be changed normally in canon menu.

EDIT: Right/left buttons are not assignable for all know.

  :)

When shooting outdoors, I don't need to change my iso that much.

Was wondering if possible to create in the customized hotkey tab to just change aperture up and down. Thanks!

Can someone explain the tonemapping and processing gamut option in 1.9? Before on 1.8, I just applied the rec709 --> allow for creative adjustments --> increase / decrease dark strengths and the images came out pretty nice.

While shooting in 4k mode, I like to use auto focus to set everything up.

However, sometimes it gets stuck in the preview (?) screen. I have to get into the ml menu or restart the camera to reset it. Anyone else experience this?
#62
I saw a few threads but in regards to larger dslrs with ML. Can anyone share their experience with gimals on the smaller eos-m (such as feiyutech or zhiyun)

I will probably need a max paypal of 2lbs since I'm using ef adaped lens which are quite heavier.

 :) will do!

New build:
https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=9741.msg208959#msg208959

- sticky push set to default when installing. Seems more stable than the default focus aid default option.

@ngemu
I would suggest to skip 5k anamorphic and record with 4k anamorphic rewired instead. They will achieve practically the same but (hopefully) corruption free. I really should rename 4k to 5k anamorphic rewired but low priority atm.
I never use the global draw options so if you still are getting pink frames try turning those options to off as well, but first try with them on as I want to see if 4k anamorphic still holds up with them on. Please report back.

I cant figure out why I'm getting pink frames still. I've uploaded pictures of all my settings, is something conflicting with one another?

would love to see in the next version a way to load multiple luts so they can be easily "scrolled through" without having to manually open the folder option each time.

Bless you both!

Can someone tell me how to activate a 3k setting in mv_lite without using crop_rec. I have noticed a conflict between the two when shooting in reduced bit rates.

Would I have to do it with a Lua script as that is how I activate 2.5k now.

It would be nice if more scripts were included in that menu with various working settings at different resolutions, crop modes, or aspect ratios. It would definitely make the camera easier to use, especially with my peanut brain.

what are your computer specs?

when apply luts, selecting log type, and white balancing, does it matter what order I do these in on mlvap?

From my testing, it seems like whatever I select, everything comes out the same.

I was wondering if you could implement a way to permanently delete the origional mlv file from the session bar.  It would save a lot of time rather than having to navigate back to the sd card folder, finding the clip, and then deleting.

Been using the mcm rewire mode but getting a ton of aliasing. I was told to use an anamorphic mode instead and I'm blow away. I ran the 2:39:1 script to help me select the settings and footage came out great.

Do you know what resolution / settings I can change to achieve footage like this though? (black bars on side rather than top and bottom)

Very strange indeed. Maybe sensor is broken? Probably not. Could you do test with and without the viltrox adapter? Also try to find a way to safely reproduce the issue if possible. Thanks.

Hi Danne. I was able to reproduce the same vertical line using the efm 18-55mm kit lens. I originally had this while using a canon 35mm is lens with viltrox adapter.  It seems to only appear when I use the 2.5k mode.

With this example, the lines disappear using the '''pattern noise on'' feature but it also induces other artifacts into the footage. This did not work with some other videos I had with these vertical lines though.

Settings
fps - 23.976
crop mode - 2.5k 2520x1418
x3 crop toggle - on
set 25fps - on
raw - 1736x976
aspect ratio - 16:9
data format: 14-bit lossless

Anyone seen this before? I am getting it randomly in 2.5k mode, both in day and night shots. Its a straight green / red line that runs vertically on the right side of the video. Its always at the same spot.

I am using a viltrox (non speedboosted) adapter with canon 35mm IS lens if that matters. mlvapp cant seem to get ride of it.
