Thanks. Numbers are good so problem lies elsewhere. But where...

Seems similar to the issue before
Hight the frame rate the lower the shutter speed

But I have not a clue

Dont worry about it
I can beg 40fps thanks to u
And a shutter of 70
This is perfect tbh

The eos m is so advanced thanks to u

hope you can figure it out

You are a serious man if you have half an idea what this means
id love to know these things but they got way past me unfortunately

Let's check you shutter blanking regs.
1 - disable all modules
2 - enable adtg_gui.mo restart camera
3 - find ADTG Registers and turn it on
4 - go into ADTG Registers and go to the bottom part until you find ADTG2[805F]N. Now stand on that register. Write down what it says at the bottom. Evf:33 and so on.
Do the same with register below ADTG2[8061]N.

You could probably use the Screenshot function if you are quick enough.

ADTG2[805F] N  0x588 Shutter ... x40/f
Evf:33be8:40481b20 v=1868(0x74c) nrzi_dec=1416(0x588).

ADTG2[8061] N 0x425 Shutter ... x56/f
Evf:33be8:40481b24 v=1591(0x637) nrzi_dec=1061(0x425).

here is a link to the photo I took

Hey so I just happened to stumble upon something

I am in 42fps and if I change the shutter speed to 64 I get clear view on the screen  if I go over 64fps
and if I go to 40fps I get clear view to 70fps if I go over 70fps it goes all wonky

Dose this sound right?
I think it is one step closer to finding the issue

Reproduced. Most likely you have AF method set to tracking. Go into photo mode and set canon menu to FlexizoneAF. Then reinstall magic lantern and start fresh. When I set AF method to tracking it starts to flicker but it still would flicker even after changing back to FlexizoneAF so a reinstall or cleaning the config file would eventually cure the issue.

But really 48fps woth stretch view is fine

And 36fps normal view is perfect too

It is most likely working and I'm making a mess of something. I'll continue to spend time on it but of I can I'll do all I can to get it going

Thanks man
Your d best

Thanks Danne.
I did uninstall ml and I your right it was on focus tracking but it is still giving the weird preview

I dont mind its 36 fps perfect
It's not the end of the world if it dose not work for me. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I didn't spend a load of time.Trying to figure it out. But I'm sure its something simple I'm missing

I did that I tried pressing the canon menu and every different setting

Like every bit rate
Fine tune on and off
Global draw on and off
Change the fps in the canon menu
Every different way I can think I spent a long time trying all different setting to make it go away

But it's still there

It's ok tho it would be nice to have it but if it odnt work its fine

I know what you mean with the stretchy live view, i can live with it. But it would be nice to have the normal live view like in MCM Rewire. Like they say, the EOS M is what it is..at least for now. Got an EOS M2 coming in (^_^)

I just got a 5d2 its top class but the eos m is way more advanced I think.
Love all the features

Is ml available for the m2?

This too works on my cam at 40fps. Probably missing a setting if something's not working. If you want to go to the bottom here we would need you to film when you are setting up your cam. It could also be something affecting in canon menu. Who knows.
If you can send me your ml build from sd card after you have it all set I could test it here.
Also. Since you set 2.35:1 why not just select the 48 fps preset instead? It will be more or less the same quality.

I'll do that
Ill take a video tomorrow and upload it to YouTube so you can see exactly what is happening

I can use the 48fps crop mode but it is the stretched view but iits fine anyway

Thamks Danne your life saver

U too zeek really appreciate all your utube videos

Using MCM 1080 Rewired (the higher frame rates one, I think 45/46fps), I can get 45fps max. The LV freezes, but you double press the menu button and then it's up and running as usual. 45fps looks really nice and I'm sure you can take it up a notch to 50fps in MLV App and slap it on to a 24p timeline. Build used 14th June.

True that mode works fine.

But Danne mentioned before that in the normal 1080p MCM Rewire mode
I can set the fps higher and still work out ok

I just like the normal view in the MCM Rewire mode

if it is posable to get to 40 COOL but if not its a class job so far.

Hope I am not being a pain by asking this question
but it is a great job how advanced the Eos m is now. thanks for all the hard work Danne and to those other people too

I need more info. What build version used? Exact settings. Maybe even upload you're entire ML build straight from camera. Just tested 40fps works here with mcm rewired preset modes.

I am on the 30fps from the canon menu
I am on the build from 4 hours ago as of this time
I am using 1080p MCM Rewire
16:9 in crop mode (But also 2:35:1)
I am using kill global draw
I am choosing the "desired FPS 40 out of 30

Hey Danne

I just uploaded a quick video at 36fps

But I know we talked about it before but I still can't get to 40fps with out the screen going weird

I choose 40fps then press the canon menu the go back to main screen and BOOM the screen goes weird again.
Any ideas. Its nice to go past 36fps but if I can't its fine too.

PS I didn't know about my menu option until you said there now. its great all the things I use on one page.

Hi there just wondering where can I download the latest 5d mk 2 magic lantern firmware

Is there new downloads available
#43
Great new guys I got the 5d2 in the end

I was originally a 5d3 guy but I sold it cuz I was so pleased with the eos m

But also it was a lit of money back in my pocket too and the EOS m was just quarter the price or even less

But I did miss a big DSLR feel

So I am now the owner of the 5d mark 2
And I love it

I will deffo keep both. Cameras
100%

Look every one working on these cameras are totally genuinely honest geniuses

Who dose what and what dose who it is not that it's a statement
A statement that you are people who knows what you want and dose it. Your the 0.00000000000001 percent

In my mind your total heroes
I ma just the normal public but your work is alllllll over the globe

Be encouraged
It totally blows my mind how ye can do this sort of thing

All I can say is I'm eternally grateful for people like ye

True I am quite picky but I think it is super quality

Here is a makeshift follow focus rig
I use the mount at the speedbooster to connect it

Its tiny and works perfectly with out having a bit rig

Bit I do love the eos m
Small and brilliant

Bit something is nice about having all the buttons on the 5d
#45
Hi everyone
Can I ask, I have an eos m

I totally love it.
But I have an oppurtunity to get a 5d mark 2 at a good price.

What is better or what in your opinion is a better camera

Should I get the 5d 2 or just stay with my eos m

#47
Lol
It looks like a handy menu

But I pressed evry botton every way but dotn know how to get it up

It's not important though but it would be nice to have
#48
Hi guys

How to I get the mini menu up on the eos m

Like the photo on the website

It's fine

U did a good Job

I am not that good at these things but I'm learning

No you did explain it perfect

But I was able to use the mlvapp and mlvfs to remove focus dots before.

But it seems one day after updating my eos m firmware the focus dots came back
In mlvfs the focus dots was always there from what i remember until months later I found out I can ad the fpm file to mlvfs and remover focus dots.
But it also came back once I updated

But the mlvapp was perfect until I updated the eos ml update

So Danne suggest to update the Dfort pixel map when he updated the ml file

So I needed to find the files
I did and I put them in the app and mlvfs
I found it in the end

Look I am kinda tec savvy when using it and troubleshooting but some of these things go way over my head.

Hope I explain it ok

But its working now 100%
