Wow im surpirsed how clean it looks, however I do have some questions,

1. how was the hdmi feed when using the camera?
2. same as #6, what cf card did you use and was it stable continuous recording?
3. May I know what mode you shot on? cdng 10 bit, at what resolution and is it full frame/ cropped?

Thanks

As far as I know the komodo has much cleaner image, wifi connection for remote trigger/monitor, sdi feed and is ergonmically easier to rig up.
However ,I have some questions for you.

1. Was the video shot in full frame?
2. how was the hdmi feed when shooting? Are there delays or any problems to use it in a shoot? Is playback even working?
3. May I know what mode you shot on?
Thanks

Wow that grip looks so nice!
Would love to have one that doesn't require drilling a hole!
Ideally I would like the following adjustments:
1. it can use a dc in to a dummy battery
2. led light indicators instead of an oled panel
3. a usb-c charging port
4. Combo Arca swiss & manfrotto Quick Release Plate
5. 1/4" Tripod Screw Mount

sosad I do not have the skills and a 3d printer for this dream battery grip.

I'm curious about how would you use super8 lenses on EOSM. Can you focus to infinity with them?

Do they need a proper adapter? I mean, they are D-mount, not C-mount, right?

Thanks for sharing these posts!
Very few super 8 lenses. comes with interchangable c mounts and 1/2" lenses also wrok in this 6.19x crop (super8 ratio)mode
D mount lens cannot be adapted with infinity focus

Buy high apperture manual prime lenses. Helios 44-2 is cheap and good.
The helios + the crop will become a 350mm lens, which is impossible to shoot handheld, not to mentikn the extra glass makes the setup bulky and ineffective.

Nice! I liked you use 15fps.

Agreed. How are you converting the MLV? I think you might get a better result using MLVApp, configured to output LogC. Then convert with FilmConvert with the profile called "Arri / Alexa / LogCfilm" (note: not the normal LogC. This one uses a "film matrix" to convert the colors). The company Cinegrain also offers some very neat conversions and textures.
Check these curves:

I use MLVapp too ! Such an amazing software to deal with raw footage.
I out put it as logC then use filmconvert to simulate film colors
Thanks for sharing the curves and the method!

Very very good film look simulation! Congrats. Only aspect that I would consider susceptible of improvement is the white balance which is maybe too white at times... a little bit of magenta or yellow cast could be used in some shots

Thanks for the compliment! I never noticed it until you have said it! Will surely try to tweak it a slight bit!

Try this version:
https://bitbucket.org/Dannephoto/magic-lantern/downloads/magiclantern-Nightly.2018Jul25.EOSM202_2K-3K-4K_10bit_patch_g3gg0.zip

Hello Danne, I am happy to report that it saves upon start up!
However, the liveview in this version is really really bad... its unusable...
Am i doing something wrong?

P.S. I get choppy liveview while shooting RAW and movie crop, In other version liveview works great....

Feature Requests / Save movie crop upon start up
October 03, 2018, 10:19:59 AM
Hello there,
I have been using the Eos M magic lamtern movie crop mode with raw,
However, the movie crop mode has to be enabled everytime upon startup(powrr on)
I have tried saving the settings but it just would not save the movie crop setting.
Its pretty annoying and I wonder if it could be made.
Cheers

Hardware and Accessories / EOS M lens suggestions
August 07, 2018, 02:03:20 PM
hello everyone,
looking to purchase a lens to shoot highest possible bitrate video (even @ 720p and cropped, I dont shoot RAW videos) to fake a film look.
a zoom lens that doesn't have alot of reach for video only.

Can someone using please tell me the crop in video and recommend some lens for me?
are super 8/ super 16 lens good for the crop of ML new update?
I am currently considering one of these lenses but I am not sure if it can be mounted/ the image circle can be used without a significant crop in post.
