Everyone knows how good Canon and ML are together but I was so impressed with this thought someone might like it.
Not very creative, 2520*1080 from a EOSM and ML
Shot from bathroom window, plants are 6 meters away and the tree 30 meters(can see heat haze creeping in)
I have a wide monitor 2560*1080 so this fills it out nicely, not sure how it will work out otherwise, please let me know.
Only post processing was less softening in Resolve REC709 RAW

Once again thanks ML team.

I have some K&F concept filters (polarizer) and find them very good for the price.

Some of us watch this thread for actual developments and not speculation, please have this discussion somewhere else.

This^^

2.5 K raw video on a several year old EOSM with UHS over clock and development has stopped ?!  :o
How about, oh I don't know,  maybe go and make some films. Cant be nice for hard working devs to read this crap.

Where to get a free one? I see a 2 month demo only.

Yep it's in development but quite useable, there is a final estimated price and it's a lot less cost than Resolve studio for the sake of de-noise and sharpening and direct integration of MLV files including focus dot removal which Resolve does not have.

In resolve you can adjust the default softening and adjust midtone sharpness also there is a sharpen function in the RAW edits which make a useable difference if you don't want to use CinemaDNG as the interface is currently quite clunky but useable.

Also as all photography getting the right exposure at shot greatly reduces the need for de-noising ;)

Happy to show how if you like.

DaVinci Resolve?

+1 and it's free and chews through DNG files like nothing, free version has no de-noise or sharpening but you can use
CinemaDNG for that and is currently free also, recent update enables loading of MLV files directly

Win win

Camera-specific Development / Re: Canon EOS M

I was curious about this so I plugged my 15-45mm IS that came with my EOS M10 onto my EOSM and the IS is definately stabilizing when raw recording. I don't use any liveview functions. This may or may not be useful.

That was a nice find as I use manual lenses most of the time and considered the 15-45 just a pfffft kit lens but its working well as is the Tamron 18-200 Di III VC which I also got for the EOS M10.

Just had email from fastcinema regarding the now included MLV support, and it works very well :)

Jusr drag and drop MLV file to the interface, very fast, focus dots also taken care of.

Only issue I have so far is cannot change aspect ratio to match my newly aquired EOSM RAW 1736*444 video.

Found it

Thanks, missed that !
Works a treat, thanks Danne  :)

This stuff is too good not to be used, thanks Alex  :D
I deleted one line with 'show console' and I deleted a bunch off the lines where most of the settings are tested.
I only kept the highest 160Mhz setting in it.

Is this for download as a module as I cant-wont-couldn't compile C unless it's Arduino  ::)

I'm ready to go if someone would be so kind.

Enjoyed your production, looks very pro, good story.

May I ask was the sharpness down to the Pentax or post processing? or both?

Impressive, just looked that lens up @ the Pentax forum and it's highly rated, think I probably have answered my own question but would like to hear your thoughts.

@Markus
Are you running the test in photo mode as when I tried it in video mode I got loads of crazy stuff coming up.

Just a thought..
#14
OK, was just answering Alex1s question...

Thanks for the info.

Those V "settings" are just labels.

OK, same card then apart from the size obviously.
If there is any test I could run to find the difference I'm happy to do so.

Does this happen on smaller cards from the same series?

No ! might be something to do with those 'V' settings I posted earlier.

This image may help choosing a SD card for the new turbo overclocking-ness

I chose a V30 as it says 4k but I'm certain they mean 4k compressed ?

I was going to get a V60 but now is unnecessary as the 700 seems to be at it's limit with a bit of overhead on the SD card writes

Joy  :)

@theBilalFakhouri

Yeah the benchmark showing the overclocked (68MB/s) speed so something not connected to the module in 720 3x3 ? someone much more knowledgeable than me will be along soon  ;D
#19
@theBilalFakhouri

Yes I did set it from the Canon menu and I had to change to NTSC to get 60fps BUT I did have frame rate limit on to 23.976 (shall I try again with it off)?

And it gave me 1736x696 easy.

OK tried with 60 fps and got 3 seconds @1736x696 BUT the recording thingy was only stating 38MB/s maybe that mode isn't working yet?

@theBilalFakhouri

41.2 MB/s and 47MB/s x5 crop mode record indicator green throughout

Hope that helps, it's not a mode I use but think I did it right 1280x720 @60fps

700D
2520x1072

12 bit lossless
Continuous recording  !!! @58MB/s

Pretty impressive

700D Sandisk V30, wooooooooo does this mean I will be able to do 3k on a 700D ?  :D
#23
Too dumb to work out how to take a screen shot but here is a photo of 700D 1.1.5 ..Sandisk Extreme pro V30 card usually gives 37MBs Write  8)

OK thanks, I'll wait patiently

Credit to you it's flying along on my low spec i3 and gt1050 card and as I said earlier the DE-noising and sharpening are excellent.

IMO the best GUI is Resolve14 free or studio.

Is there anyway to reset the interface?  have got my self into a pickle.

Sharpening and de-noising very nice features, also looking forward to MLV support.
