Share Your Videos / Travel video. Canon 50d.
November 13, 2018, 04:28:12 PM
This short movie was shot by me, during my 2-week vacation in Icmeler, Turkey.

The gear was used:
-Canon 50d + Magic Lantern RAW video hack.
-Canon EF-S 18-55 3.5/5.6 lenses.
-Zhiyun Crane V2 gimbal with dual handle grip.
-Viltrox DC-50 portable lcd monitor.
-Zoom H1 portable audio recorder.

Memory cards:
-Lexar Professional 1000x 64gb
-Toshiba Exceria 1000x 32gb

My workflow:
1) Shot RAW video on 50d (resoluiton is 1568x668).
2) MLV to DNG conversion by "MLW RAW Video Producer".
3) Color correction and light color grade in DaVinci Resolve Studio, export to resolution 1920x800.
4) Final edit and export in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Music is:
Owsey - You Are Quietly Disappearing Before Me

With 50d you can get really nice shots, even in 2018.

Thank you for your attention!

Can anyone help me out with this flickering of the overlay in Liveview. I don't know all the technical terms of what is happening, so I just created a video to show that it is flickering in very specific spots. It does this with different cards and batteries, so I doubt they're the problem. Let me know if anyone has an idea, thanks.

Have you disabled Canon's original GUI?
Blue flicker is looks like zebras on under-exposed areas, while the lower one is looks like a some sort of conflict between Magic Lantern GUI and Canon GUI.

Its just my thoughts...

You can enable "Sticky half-shutter" setting which is located in Prefs->Misc key setting.

But in this case you need to start rec on, then half-press shutter once and you are good to go.
In order to stop rec, you need half-press first and then actually stop recording.

Feels tricky, but it is worth it, especially in combination with any gimbal.
