Either I can't follow you or you've mixed up the dates. (?)

The compiled crop_rec_4k_mlv_lite_snd branch, which I linked some posts before, has the mlv_play module in version from 02.2018. The patch, which you mentions, was commited by g3gg0 in June 2017. As a result, this patch is already included in the mlv_play which I posted. So either it just doesn't work on 70D or there was a regression due to the following commits... Going some revisions back would be needed to find it out. FYI: I haven't used mlv_play at all yet.

Sorry, i was talking about february 12, my bad for the poorly formatted date, and I see I misred the commit...

Same behaviour here: working in 14-bit but not for 10 or 12-bit. Recording seems continuous in 1600*900 with this bit depth, so it'll do! (i just wanted to have some playback for outside shootings)

The mlv_play module was not updated since 02/17 and the latest one from june seems to have fixed some issues:

Anyone has the same issue as me?

No, playback on the 70D, no issue with playing MLV files on the computer.

Okay so everything's working well, except mlv_play : I can't watch the MLV files after recording (just on the computer), it stays black with the frame numbers changing.

Thanks a lot guys, everything's good!

In the downwloads section you will find: -> original sd_uhs, which is benchmarking several settings, so you can find the best setting for your card but it takes ages to complete -> custom build, sd_uhs is fixed to SDR104@160MHz setting, it does test the throughput after patching *once*

On request I could prepare a similar mod like Danne did already for M, 100D, 700D, (*), skipping the testing completely. So far I didn't need it.

Thank you, it's very much appreciated! So you recommend to bench it with the first build? I'll do that!

Edit: I have some hiccups, I did a fresh install with the custom build (it tested it first and I have have the same settings with a SanDisk Extreme PRO): the ML menu freezes when I want to change RAW video settings... The lossless setting was the culprit, so I used the mlv_rec module. It's strange, I have the exact same settings as you (160mhz, more than 60mb/s, 40 before) but when I run the benchmark and I use raw video, it doesn't seem to change anything.

Did someone compile the latest USH-I build? I'm very eager to test it! I don't know anything about compiling...

This is indeed for the 70D, thank you for your help, I'm gonna try this right now!

I don't understand how to use this on a 17-50mm : which setting do i have to use and Canon AF and Dottune ?

As Pulsar said, when I set "This lense : wide" or "tele" (and the Canon settings to "This lense") it just continues beeping. I have to use "All lense" on Canon and ML menus for dottune to work. But will it register different AF settings if needed for both wide and tele end ?

Why is there this setting (wide / tele) if it isn't working at all for zoom lenses...

Thanx I updated the RAW shooting resolutions in my previous post on this page #3030 to match lastest experimental raw, its rather good now.

You can get to about 90% of 1920/2.35 @ 24fps with 10bit raw with full AF capabilities, continuously.
All higher resolutions like 1920/2.35 requires 30fps and MF & peaks/magic zoom with time limits (see prev post).
10bit raw slo-mo is 1920/2.35 @60fps, for 8.5s, more than enough for most needs.

With full 1920/2.35 support in 10-bit raw, this camera for video exceeds an 80D unless you want H264/IPB but even there youre shooting without the ML features.  An interesting comparison would be 80D IPB slo-mo vs 70D 10 bit slo-mo. IPB when panned has shadow banding, and raw has ISO limit of about 800 for 8.5s before shadow noise (its really a trade-off comparison).

How about aliasing/moire at these resolutions? I just tested at 1920 / 10bits, it's pretty bad (it's supposed to be, but not that bad...). Maybe my settings aren't right? I just changed the video settings on ML before testing.
