General Chat / Has canon even said a word about ML?
September 15, 2013, 08:51:18 AM
It seems like they don't even know it exists. Curious to know...

This pertains to the website because it was shot with ML Intervolemeter:

When you save photos in ACR, you can't open other photos or save other photos. Is there plugin or some way to by pass this?

General Development / Need help merging code, etc.
July 26, 2013, 02:53:46 AM
I'm trying to compile a copy of a pull request (auto iso by marsu42). He said I need to prepare an auto exec.bin thats compatible with the module in order to run it.

This is what he said "I don't see a link to diff my whole pull request, so you have to pull the official ml source code through mercurial, then pull my code on top of and merge: https://bitbucket.org/Marsu42/ml-mod1/overview ... or, to keep it simpler, pull my mercurial tree which isn't far behind and compile: https://bitbucket.org/Marsu42/ml-mod1/src"

My goal is to just make this module and make it compatible with my current build of ML that I'm running. Thanks.

It's a very useful feature. I googled and found a thread on hear that ML auto ISO is an alternate for it. Apparently this auto ISO feature was dropped in newer releases.

I don't know if it's already been done but, I just wanted to ask...

I know it's possible to do this because ML already offers features to enable/disable the LED for h264 but, can we get the blue LED to turn on with the recording of raw video?

I originally was thinking of buying the 5d mark II but the 6Ds better low light performance and WiFi capabilities, not to mention it's lower price (in most situations) made me buy the 6D.

Now with the recent innovations of raw video, I've been thinking of switching and I've found a 5d mark II in absolutely great condition and maybe a lower price.

Can someone give me some insight along with the current max raw capabilities with this camera? I know there is a thread for current capabilities but it's always changing so I'm curious of the current max.

What has gone on with my account to cause this?  :'(

Share Your Videos / Aquarium - 6D, 1792x672.
June 10, 2013, 01:59:36 AM

First time shooting an actual video. Not a videographer, I mostly do photography. First time using premiere also. Please excuse my terrible panning skills and manual focusing.

Applied 50 sharping in ACR with a radius of .5 to all shots... The video is a WHOLE lot sharper before Youtube compressed it...

All tests were done at 1792X672. GD off, Force Left On, Canon Preview Mode, 0 second delay, 255mb buffer size. Tested on the 6D with [113] BigMemPhoto.zip.

ExFat:

2048 bytes: 420 Frames
4096 bytes: 435 Frames
8192 bytes: 450 Frames. Sometimes got 435 Frames
16 kilobytes: 435 Frames
32 kilobytes: 450 Frames
64 kilobytes: 435 Frames
128 kilobytes: 450 Frames
512 kilobytes: 450 Frames

2048 kilobytes: 435 Frames
4096 kilobytes: 435 Frames

8192 kilobytes: 450 Frames
16384 kilobytes: 450 Frames

32768 kilobytes: 435 Frames

What I've found is that when using high cluster sizes from about 4096 kilobytes and formatting takes a long time to load. Also when you turn on and off the camera, the camera takes longer to detect and undetect (when turning off) it seems. The red light is on for a long time... On smaller sizes such as 2048 to 512 kilobytes and lower, the load times for the camera and formatting on the computer are very quick. So the best size for ExFat is 32 kilobytes.

Fat32:

Can someone else test? I don't wanna have to go through that again lol.

What microphones mount onto the Canon 6d and do not record onto the Camera's SD card but another storage source? With microphones such as these we don't take any performance hit with our write speeds...
#12
Before deciding which card is better, remember that I am talking about actual write speed not possible write speed.

Now the two cards are:
Sandisk 45Mb/s Extreme
Sandisk 95Mb/s Extreme Pro

Regardless of price which yields better performance, via benchmarks on a Canon 6D's supposed 50mb/s or 45 mb/s limit? Does the Extreme actually yield better performance than the extreme pro like some of the users here have said, or is that just a misconception?

Feature Requests / [WONTFIX] Video Auto focus?
May 27, 2013, 05:47:03 AM
I know this has to be possible but can you guys implement a continuous auto focus system for video?  It will make DSLRs with the new RAW video hack great cinema cameras!
