I just updated it so that if you change the color depth (which you probably wouldn't normally do) it will plug into the formula (I had it hard-coded to "14" before).

As i known - SteadyXP uses audio channel to sync the movement data with video. Another idea - you can use custom app on your smartphone (gyroscopes, accelerometers) to record this data and then sync it in post somehow (sound, or trigger).

not shure we have enough processor speed for both recording and quaternions calculation IMHO

http://builds.magiclantern.fm/features.html -> LEVEL_INDICATOR; these cameras report at least the roll angle; some of them also report the pitch angle. These angles are recorded from accelerometers, not gyroscopes.
For your purpose, I'm afraid none of them are good enough, but feel free to prove me wrong.

FYI: I am going to release a new Alpha today for testing. Again only for those cams which were already been able to run the previous builds.
QuoteWhutt?? U copied my post, haha. Well, looks like we are on the same page. Will wait for the team to update, no pressure on nik and the team

There's no ML for 70D yet, so I have no idea. Most likely it will be similar to the other DIGIC V models with SD card (but that's just a wild guess).

If Microsoft did have a build-in OS program like AppleScript/Automator I could!

I was tired of opening the SD card on my Mac, copying the ML RAW files to my Desktop, drop them on raw2dng en delete the old RAW files on my Desktop.
I'm not a software programmer but made this possible with Apple's Automator.
1. Insert the SD-card
2. Start the Automator "ML RAW 2 DNG v0.01" task and the program will find the RAW files on your SD-card!
3. Wait till the RAW files are copied to a folder on your desktop named "ML RAW - {year}{month}{day}" and processed by raw2dng.
4. Press "Yes" to delete or "No" to keep the RAW files in the "ML RAW - {year}{month}{day}" folder.
Have fun!

Hello,
I am having an issue. Whenever I try to process the footage in AE it get this error after hitting import. "After Effects error: the file format module could not parse the file. ( 45 :: 35 )" I followed all of the instructions of this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fGIIAQXXxQ
I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hello all,
sorry for being a noob and slightly off topic... I currently have ML v2.3 installed. Do I need to reformat my cards and set my camera back to factory before installing the nightly builds?
Thanks

RAW2DNG is also for PC (and Linux). Check the post here for the downloadlink:

@saeed2vfx: you don't open these files in photoshop - they are not .RAW 32BPC HDR files that it supports. You need to convert it to a DNG sequence using RAW2DNG. Once you have the sequence, you can import it into After Effects or other editing/compositing suite (subject to support for DNG sequences) and start playing around with it.
